KLM hired Buff PR to provide consultancy and worldwide Public Relations for KLM’s latest mobile game “Jets”. Buff PR consulted on the game’s launch strategy, app store optimisation, messaging and marketing.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded in 1919, making it the world’s oldest airline still operating under its original name. In 2004, Air France and KLM merged to form AIR FRANCE KLM. The merger produced the strongest European airline group based on two powerful brands and hubs – Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Retaining its own identity, the group focuses on three core businesses: passenger transport, cargo and aircraft maintenance. The KLM network connects the Netherlands to every important economic region in the world and, as such, serves as a powerful driver for the economy.
Jets has a fun-packed single player mode, but the experience gets even more exciting when players use their social media account to challenge friends in the one-on-one turn-based multiplayer missions.
Jets’ first levels are set in Amsterdam, the home-base of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Players fly their paper plane through the center of the old city and over the famous canals, while avoiding cars, trams and boats. In the single player mode they unlock new missions, collect items and set high scores. In the multiplayer mode players challenge their friends to beat them in the exact same mission they just completed. Winners can instantly share their victory on social media.
